Dr. Richard J. Kang is Medical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Dignity Health Northridge Hospital Medical Center. He is a recent graduate from the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy and recipient of his Masters in Executive Health Administration.
When he’s not in the hospital, he loves spending time outdoors golfing and coaching his children’s sports teams. He is married to Sonia Smith-Kang where together they have four children and reside in Los Angeles.
Sonia Smith-Kang, RN, BSN, PHN
Sonia Smith-Kang is a Registered Nurse. After graduating from the University of San Francisco she went on to explore different areas of nursing including, orthopedic trauma/surgery, emergency room, critical care and pediatric intensive care unit. She is also a Public Health Nurse with an expertise in working with multicultural patients as they intersect within a healthcare setting.
Smith-Kang is founder of Mixed Up Clothing, Inc., co-founder of Mixed Heritage Day and Multiculti Corner and VP of Multiracial Americans of Southern California (MASC)
She is a biracial mother of four multiracial children and is married to Dr. Richard Kang. Together they raise their children as “mini global citizens” sharing their cultural diversity with others as well as learning about other cultures we share this world with.
