Some of our lifesaving heroes who have signed up to be potential donors!
Here are some stories of donors, we have met, who have unselfishly donated of themselves to save a stranger.
Bill (on left), pictured here with his family, donated bone marrow to a 16 year old patient in 2002. Bill says that despite the discomfort of the procedure, he would do it again in a heartbeat.
Courtney, a college basketball player for the University of Hawaii, donated bone marrow in 2010 to a 4 year old boy. Courtney wrote us right after the procedure and said, “The surgery went great! I am back to normal and I have been for a while! I havent heard back yet on how the recipient is doing. But as far as I know everything went well with extracting the marrow and it wasnt as sore as I thought it would be! I would definitely encourage people to register and donate!!”
