Paul, known to his family and friends as P.J., is on the verge of his 40th birthday. He is half-Japanese, half-Mexican, and is currently looking for a bone marrow donor match.
P.J. was first diagnosed in February 2016 with non-hodgkin’s lymphoma after developing a lump in his left chest.
After an initial 6 rounds of chemotherapy, the lump seemed to have disappeared, but came back shortly after his sixth treatment. The next round of chemotherapy was, unfortunately, not successful in decreasing the size of the lump.
He is now seeking placement in a study for immunotherapy, but will eventually need a bone marrow transplant following treatment.
