Facing a fight against a rare disease, Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), Maya needed a marrow transplant. In March 2010, Maya recieved a partial marrow match which was rejected, but fortunately in May 2010, another partial marrow match was located and transplanted.
